Background: Candide is the daughter of two crusaders, either of whom retired due to their marriage and subsequent child. They were given a relatively decent stipend; her mother, Paquette de Cunegonde, was an amazing general with many stars to her chest. They taught her that she needed a certain optimism about things, and so when horrible things happened, they often forced the naturally sad child into a form of false happiness which became her personality.

Though it's not false anymore, it was in it's youth, and so there's often a cracked measure to Candide's rare but brilliant smiles. Her words are often happy but her eyes don't always glow - and she's certain there was more to her at some point but she's not sure. She followed her mother's footsteps and graduated the academy top of her class, and became a crusader shortly thereafter - she is not naturally good at fighting but merely excels due to her optimism. When she failed she would say, "I will be better next time! This was to teach me to train harder!"

Now as a general of a rather successful comission with a squadron of her own, Candide is riddled with her own personal questions. She feels... empty in a way, as if she, herself, wasn't standing in the space she was. She looks at her crew and wonders what is amiss. Even praying to Freya is not so gratifying.

Personality: Optimistic, ironically. I was going to be cute with the name of course, but I decided that it does lead a certain bit of optimism to the whole thing - everything happens for a reason. Everything is meant to be! Freya and Odin and any conflict thereof? Meant to occur. In Candide's mind the world is going to get better, even when life gets wretched. Her optimism spreads to her command, as she's seen as a viscerally affective leader - friendly, kind, and persuasive. She is set prime in her position, considered a minor celebrity of army-rank.
